Nelson Farm

We breed only quality horses from performance winning pedigrees. Our breeding goals are to provide show quality horses that can perform in all areas of riding.

Affirmed Gold

Is our newest stallion to be used in our breeding program. He has several outstanding proven performance horses in his pedigree and should prove to be an all around horse with beauty, confirmation and tallent.  We will be crossing him with APHA and AQHA mares with pedigress that include Zippos Sensation(#1 leading APHA performance sire), Zips Chocolate Chip and Dirty Rocki (#2 on the list of APHA leading performance sires) this will produce foals with good minds, increased performance abilities, exceptional confirmation, trainability and color. Our purpose is not to mass produce foals but to breed for excellence.

Owner and Breeder Deanna Nelson

Im an RN and I have over 17 years experience in the health care field and  many years experience with horses.
My first horse was a pony named  Lady bug. She was a shetland and the meanest thing on the block. I'm surprised I continued to like horses after that one. Later when I was 14 I rode a palomino horse for an old man in California. I had to take a bus for an hour and transfer several times then walk about two miles to get to the stables just to ride. When I turned 16 I got a job In order to save enough money to buy a horse. I went looking for a horse with my mother and we came across a really nice looking thoroughbred. My mother got on the horse and it reared up and fell over backward, luckely she jumped to the side and didn't get hurt. From then on whenever I go look at a prospective horse to buy I have the owner ride it first. Our next stop was a horse rental place that was selling two horses. One was a palomino gelding and the other one was a skinny chestnut mare with a weird brand on her neck. I rode the gelding and all he did was walk no matter how much you urged him on. When I rode the skinny mare she took of at a dead run, I did manage to stop her. Guess which one I bought. The skinny mare, she was a great horse. I rode her for two summers. I was the only one who could ride her. Many years later I had a friend who owned a few BLM mares and realized that skinny mare was a mustang, it explaned alot.  I was fearless at that age but not anymore I have kids now. I bought several horses after that ranging from Arabians, Paints to Quarter horses and grades. I purchased my first stallion when I was 20 and then again when I was 33. I did alot of showing at halter with my second stud and bred him several times. He was a great horse with an even better personality. You can see his pictures in the photo gallery under Mr Millennium Drifter along with a few of his foals. Unfortunatly I needed tuition money and had to sell him.  I have raised, trained, foaled, ridden and bred many horses in the past years and look forward to breeding Affirmed Gold.
