Paint Marking Estimates
Below is a genetic table of the possiblity of
having a paint or breeding stock (solid) foal based
on your mares genetic phenotype.
I will use Cb as a hetrozygous tobiano colored paint, CC as a homozygous tobiano colored paint and bb as a non colored horse
Hetrozygous=carries two genes one for paint color and one for non color
Homozygous= carries two paint color genes and cannot produce a non colored horse
Homozygous horses usually have small spots or pawprints inside the white markings this is not always an accurate sign you should have your horse tested by UC Davis or another genetics lab if you want to know what phenotype your horse is.
Links to two genetics labs are listed under links page.
