June 5, 2008

Hello everyone sorry for taking so long to update the news page. I have been very buisy with my family and passing the state nursing boards i'm now an RN yeahhhh!!! no more studying for me unless I want to. Anyway we have been approved for financing for our barn and are in the process of begining clearing the site it will hopfully be completed in September before the winter weather. We have purchased our second mare and shes just a sweetheart we love her already. Unfortunatly our other mare Porche decided to go through the fence so shes a bit scraped up but doing ok so far. She was pretty swollen on her front left leg but the vet gave her some IV bute and she was trotting in the pasture the next day and the swelling was way down. Harley is doing great at the trainers but with the gass prices going so high we are reevaluating his show carreer. His trainer is confident he will do extremely well but needs more time as hes only had about 5 months of training and two years is the norm but hes really nice at the walk and trot very impressive to watch his natural ablilty to move it"s so fluid. I also believe he will do well at the shows but looks like next year is when he will be doing that. We may do some open shows with him this year just have to wait and see. My trainier has a mentality that he must be perfect before we show him due to him being a stallion. Hes also grown alot and may reach 16 hands above what I predicted him to reach. Hes still a sweet horse and many people at the barn coment on his demenor and his looks. We will be breeding one of our mares either this summer of early next year we are excited to see what he can produce.  Bye all.

March 4th 2008

Affirmed Gold is back with his trainer for a few months to finish up with his training. We are hopefull he will be able to show in May. His trainer is going to work on western pleasure and possibly reining but we will see. Harley is filling out nicely and is just stunning to look at. He has grown into a handsome young stallion with exquisite movement thats effortless. I really look forward to seeing him compete at the shows with Rob (his trainer). Ill be a shutterbug at them all. Photos will be posted on his page especialy once hes shed out. Spring is comming soon and I cant wait.

March 1, 2008

Due to severe heavy winds on 2/6 our barn was completely damaged. We are hopefull that a new barn will be built before 2009. We are looking at building a 6 stall barn with 12x12 stalls. Harley is going back to the trainer on monday for a few months to get prepared for the show season. We will not be breeding this year due to no accomidations for mares. Sorry for any inconvienice this may have caused anyone.

December 12 2007

Well its that cold and wet time of year again. We have buttoned down our hatches and are ready to wait out the winter. Harley is now double registered with APHA and PtHA. Nothing else new to report as its nasty out there with flooding and freezing. Burrrrrr. Hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday. Merry Christmas everyone.

November 19th 2007

Harley is back from the trainers and is on vacation. He will be worked lightly before breeding season as the weather is getting worse. I have sent off registration papers to PtHA and will update his status when I find out. He will then be double registered. I am thinking about adding my own incentive fund for the first three 2008 foals that are shown. I was thinking of offering a $250.00 dollar incentive with a 50% off stud fee for the first three foals who reach a total of 5 APHA or PTHA points. I plan on adding him to the breeders trust for the 2009 breeding season if all goes well. If you have any questions or suggestions please email me. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Harley is doing awesome. New photos of his progress are now uploaded and ready to be viewed.

Oct 17 2007

Harleys trainer has updated me today and said he is very happy with his progress and he is doing great under saddle. Rob said he is calm and cool while being ridden and he will start him in the arena next week. I will be taking photos and video as soon as he has graduated to the arena. I am wanting to have him stay for another month but need to make a few decisions before I can do that I will keep everyone up to date.

Affirmed Golds DNA results are back and he is heterozygous for tobiano TO/to. I had expected this result and just had him checked for my personal curiosity please refer to the Breeding color chart for the posible outcomes for your mares. I will be updating soon on harleys progress in training soon so check back.
